It's July 4th week!
It is the week of July 4th!!!! This is the 249th birthday of the United States of America. Think about that – 249 years is a very long time!!!! Next year is the 250th …. also known as the semi-quincentennial or sestercentennial or bi-sesquicentennial or quarter millennium. Start practicing now to get your pronunciation right!
We have some great eagle panels, fabrics, and kits. Remember that quilts can be used as picnic or snooze in the outdoors blankets or pretend tents or tablecloths or whatever! Unless you are creating for a special purpose, use your quilts and show them off! Any stain that happens is a memory preserved. Besides, if a quilt gets “all used up”, what better excuse to make another?
July 1st is the start of the Row by Row Experience 2025. This is a national Shop Hop that will run from July 1st to August 31st and, this year, it is also online. The theme is The Great Outdoors. Each participating shop will have a special Row by Row block that will finish to 9" x 18". If you stop into a shop, you will get the shop’s pattern for free. Online, the patterns will be available for $5 each. Peak to Peak Stitching will have a fabric kit available for purchase to go with our pattern. Our online block kit will include the pattern. Check out the website at rowbyrowexperience.com to see where the participating shops across the country are or to download patterns from the stores.
The highlighted fabric collection of the Row by Row Experience is The Great Outdoors collection by Northcott. See our custom designed pattern and kit, Sea to Sea, uses the beautiful fabrics in the collection.
Ok, I get it, this is summer and it is warm out. However, fabrics come in when they come in and we have some gorgeous new flannels in rich colors. It is hard to think flannel now, but it will be easy in just a few months. These make great backings.
Check out our Welcome to the Mountains panel – it is our popular Welcome to Estes Park panel but without the Estes Park rock.
For all of you Stonehenge lovers, we are working to bring in all of the Stonehenge Basics and Gradations and many of the Stonehenge Ombres and Surfaces fabrics. We have so many coming in, you will just have to check at our online store to see them all!
We still have some slots available in our Sew a Fabric Basket class on July 17. PS We also have sewing machines for rent in case you will be in town but not traveling with your own machine! Call us if you are interested in renting.
Enjoy these long days! (I think summer days feel longer than winter days.)
