Sun - Rain - Blue Skies - Snow
It is that time of year when you enjoy an afternoon of warm sun and blue skies then wake up the next morning to an inch or two of snow on your deck. (Moisture. Good!) Dressing in layers is key! Check out this picture of Ypsilon Mountain – with some fresh snow, you can see the feature referred to as the dove. Guess what is being reported in some places near town? Hummingbirds! They haven’t made it yet to the altitude where I live but they are near!
Step into a mountain meadow with Moda’s Wanderlust collection! This beautiful collection features watercolor designs that capture the scene of a mountain meadow at different times. Think pink and rusty orange at sunrise, crisp blue skies, and deep colors during twilight. The collection includes both blenders, fun fabrics, and ombres. There is something for everyone in this.
From Riley Blake comes 4 dramatic panels in their Majestic in Nature series. (I personally love the name of the Bear panel – “No Fish Today”). In addition to the Bear, there is a great Country Deer, a Grand Elk for you elk lovers (shout out to those of you who are part of the Elk Conservation effort in Pennsylvania!), and a Moose.
Squirrels anyone? Around where I live, we have Abert’s Squirrels. They come in colors from medium gray to dark gray to black. They can be distinguished from other squirrels by the long tufts on their ears. This month’s Foundation Paper Piecing block is the Abert’s Squirrel. Only one block is left – it will be launched on June 1 to complete the set of 12.
We are slowly making available our custom patterns and patterns that pattern designers we work with have ok’d for a downloadable format. Our Foundation Paper Piecing patterns are all available in both hardcopy and digital download formats!
All of the staff has been busy organizing products and loading the trailer headed for the Boise Idaho Quilt, Craft, and Sewing Festival. We are bringing our fabulous custom quilts and pre-cuts. Our Home Shoppers Club bags will be available in a limited quantity for sale as well – for those of you who don’t live near Estes Park (like in Boise), join the club and get some free shipping.
