April Showers Bring May Flowers

There is more snow on the mountain peaks at last. Every day when I walk the dogs, I hear more birds chirping (or drilling into house siding in the case of the woodpeckers). Even at night, the Great Horned Owls have returned and are hooting (we have had a nesting pair nearby for years now). Still no hummingbirds though.

Will the snow and rain showers also bring May flowers? I sure hope so, but in the meantime, check out the beautiful Superbloom collection from Moda. Robin Pickens has done it again with two new floral ombres – one in jewel tones and one in pastels – plus coordinating fabrics. Laura Heine lovers are going to love the wealth of colorful flowers perfect for applique. We also have one kit left of “Gathering Wildflowers.

We are super excited to announce a really cool project we have been working on for many months...Just Quilt It Mountain Gold! The panel includes a gorgeous mountain scene, the backing, and the binding, all in one place (~12.5 yards of fabric). All you do is cut the fabric then just quilt and bind it. This is a fast and easy way to make a 72" x 90" quilt. For longarmers, you can use one of these panels to test out new stitches or to learn how to use your machine without the hassle of having to piece a top first.

Many of you live far away from Estes Park or just downvalley. For all of you who live near or far, we are announcing our new Peak to PeakTM Home Shoppers Club. For $99, you will get free shipping for one year (max of 2 online orders/month, min purchase of $25/order), a large zippered canvas bag with logo’d items inside and a project: quilters will get a block (fabric and pattern); knitters, will get a mini-skein and stitchmakers.

Yarn Lovers, Local Yarn Shop Day is April 26th. Check out this project, Ciao Bella, by Lisa Overby. (It's a free pattern on Ravelry.) The fingering weight superwash yarn used by our knitter is Ali Pate's Herd of Cats. (Check out the yarn cozy - this is a great way to keep those balls of yarn together! It's another free pattern called....Yarn Cozy....)

Lots going on!!! Enjoy the week!
