Cat Days of Winter
If there is such a thing as the “dog days of summer”, are there “cat days of winter”? Winter days often can make you just want to curl up and knit a sweater or sew a block. Cats seem to have the curl up and let the world happen around them thing going – well, maybe they just are like that most of the time so just because it is winter, there is nothing different in their behaviour! Pets like blankets too, so if you want to try a new stitch or a new technique, make a pet blanket to test out your new skill! I have been learning some new knitting stitches lately – quite the challenge for me!
Thinking of pets, we have a new book, Knit a Mini Woodland which will help you create tiny woodland creatures. These are indeed mini so will be a challenge for a beginner or a skill developer for others!
For Foundation Paper Piecing lovers, the next block in our mountain flora and fauna series will be available on Saturday – check out the Aspen tree block!
Cheryl Phillips pioneered a simple new technique for framing fussy cut patterns inside circles. With her permission, we have reprinted her out-of-print book Circle A Round. Pick up a brand new copy and learn Cheryl’s technique. Use it to showcase any fun prints you might have in your stash. Below is a picture of a tablerunner made with some Charley Harper fabrics, but any fun fabrics will work!
