Hoarfrost
A phenomena that happens very infrequently is heavy hoarfrost – see the picture below. Hoarfrost is formed by water vapor freezing at very cold temperatures and only when it is very still. Unlike ice, hoarfrost forms in feathery crystals, carefully outlining every structure. It is very beautiful, made even more so by how rarely it occurs! You can see how the mist was hovering in the air when it froze on the trees about 8 feet above the ground.
Northcott’s Eagle Pass collection is in and if you like eagles, you will love these fabrics. We are also kitting two patterns.

We are trying something new for those of you traveling to Estes Park who don’t want to lug a sewing machine but can’t live without one or for beginners who aren’t sure yet about quilting. We now have a limited number of sewing machines available to rent by the day or the week. Give the shop a call at 970-296-8385 and ask for Debbie or Catherine if you are interested! These are very basic, easy-to-use Janome Loft 100 machines. If you want a place to sew for a few hours, ask if our classroom space is open so you can come sew and relax for a while!

Knit a Toph Beanie – March 15 - Learn how to knit a hat, using two colors of yarn, the ladderback jacquard method for two-color stranded knitting, and short rows. Students 12 years old and up are welcome!
Charley Harper Rocky Mountain Quilt – April 26 – BACK BY POPULAR DEMAND!! Come have fun with Charley Harper while making this colorful quilt using Charley Harper’s Rocky Mountain National Park panel and other Charley Harper fabrics that reflect mountain flora and fauna.
Pictorial Applique Workshop by David Taylor - September 14 to 19. Space is limited for this retreat.
