Hummers!
The mountains are all hike-able without snowshoes and only in a few cases will you still need spikes. It has been warm, but not blistering hot like many of you are experiencing! We have had nice breezes, and the afternoon thundershowers are keeping the fire danger down. Check out how much snow has melted off since I last shared a picture!
What is on our mind are all the hummingbirds everywhere both all over the Estes area and in the shop! We have a new line in from Windham called Hummingbird’s Charm and a line in from Clothworks called Zen. If you love hummingbirds and flowers, these lines are for you.
Shannon Fabric’s Wisteria Hummingbird Cuddle kit back is in stock. We sold out during the Shop Hop but we have them now. I know it is hard to think of Cuddle and flannel right now in the heat of summer, but now is the time to start planning for fall and winter so you will have plenty of time to sew treats for yourself or gifts for others. We are carrying a limited amount of Cuddle by the yard for backing as well.
On July 20th, we are hosting Orphan Block Summer Quilt Day. This is not a retreat, and it is not a class, but it will be a fun time to CLEAN OUT YOUR STASH and enjoy the creative company of other quilters! Get rid of orphan blocks, tops, scraps, or fabrics you have had for years but do not have a plan to do anything with them. Join us from 10AM to 4PM to sew quilts for the charity Quilts Beyond Borders. (If you have blocks but are unable to be in Estes Park on the 20th, feel free to mail them to us at PO Box 1949, Estes Park, CO 80517 or bring them to us next time you visit.) We are going to have a sew day once a quarter to make quilts for those who could use some love.
This is also the last call for the June 27th bag panel class. This is a great opportunity to have Anne teach you how to make these easy bags, especially our newest one featuring the large mammals of the Rocky Mountains. The class is next Thursday, June 27th, from 12PM to 5PM. If you are interested in taking the class via zoom, please contact us at info@peaktopeakstitching.com and we will include you!
