It's spring run-off time!
Welcome new subscribers! Many new quilters and yarn fans joined us this past weekend as part of Wool Market and the Northern Colorado Shop Hop! (The NoCo Shop Hop runs through June 15th so stop by and pick up your free charm pack and pattern with a 1 yard purchase of fabric!)
It is spring run-off time in the Rockies. All the streams and rivers are running at full or over capacity right now. Even the little stream that runs by the US Bank building is full! The lovely sound of the water gushing over the rocks is like beautiful music. Peak run-off will happen in the next 10 days or so and then the creeks will return to normal levels. The snowmelt and rain (think typical summer afternoon thunderstorms) has made for very lush greenery everywhere.
We have our Colorado Summer Activities and Colorado Winter Activities quilts together. These are quick and easy quilts to make and showcase the fun things you can do in the summer or winter in the mountains! Check out the fabric pictures and see if you can identify all of the activities. (Answers at the very bottom of this newsletter.)
Arlene Briana’s Alpine Aster Shawlette launched at Wool Market and is now available for purchase in the shop. It only takes 1 skein of fingering weight yarn and makes a light accent feature for summerwear. The sample used Dawn Cottone’s Alpine Aster yarn, but we also recommend Little Squirrel’s Cloudless Light or Herd of Cats’ tonal Bluebird Lake. The pattern can be purchased separately.
We are starting to dabble in fabrics that work well for Laura Heine projects. We have brought in Laura’s very own new collection called “Goodness Gracious!”. These are fun fabrics AND for those of you who work on Laura Heine projects, these may be just what you need!
We have been very busy this past week with both the Wool Market and the NoCo Shop Hop running simultaneously. Many people who visited the shop didn’t realize we are also online…we are!
Have a great week everybody!
