Flowers!!!

Flowers!!!!! Everything from dandelions to Pasque flowers to daisies to mouse-eared chickweed are out now. I do believe (at least at the Estes Park elevation) we saw our last snow about a week ago, but up in the mountains, it keeps snowing, and the wind keeps blowing causing drifting. There is no indication as to when Trail Ridge Road will open!

Remember Wool Market is next week, June 8-9 AND the Northern Colorado Shop Hop begins on June 6th and will run through June 15th. We will be open on Sunday June 9th and Monday June 10th 10AM – 5PM to help all those participating in the Shop Hop! Click on the links for more details.

As spring is happening here in Estes, celebrate by joining our Foundation Paper Piecing Block of the Month club! The series of animals, birds, and plants of the Rocky Mountains are designed by Lori Jonker. Each monthly kit includes the pattern, fabric, and a short video by Lori with tips. The BOM can be purchased for in-store pick-up or for mailing to you anywhere. BOM participants will see the new FPP patterns one month before the patterns are released in the store (other than the first month), be able to attend a live Q&A session available in-person or on zoom about a week after the kits are picked up/sent and will also receive the patterns printed on FPP paper in addition to “regular” paper. Each block will finish to 12” x 12”.

We have new grunge colors with names Chiffon, Duchess, Pumpkin, Bison, Natural, Eggshell, True Blue. Don’t you ever wonder about who comes up with these names? I want that job! All in all, we have 37 different shades of Grunge to help with your color coordination!

From Island Batiks comes the Oasis Collection, a set of wonderful batiks and textures in shades of teal, ecru, and blue. There are grasses, pinecones, pine needles, evergreens, and pebbles. The colors really pop!

Knitters, Paul Koerner has classes she will be teaching in our classroom. She will begin a series on her Summer Sweater on Jun 20th and on July 26th she will host and teach a Quickie Retreat to make the Alpine Aster shawlette.

Two classes are back by popular demand. In the first, Anne will be teaching her Panel Bag class on June 27th. Join Anne to learn how to make a light canvas tote bag. We have three bags in the store you can choose from – our new Big Mammals panel bag, Welcome to Estes panel, or a multi-colored Tonal Trio bag. The second class is Jan’s Sew a Fabric Basket half day class on September 12th. Both of these have been very popular, and space is limited to 12 sewists!

Now for a not so fun topic - parking. We don’t want you surprised when you come for a visit, so here is what is going on. The short version is – when you come into the store, bring your license plate number. The longer version is that the parking rules for “our” lot have changed this year. The US Bank lot is a private lot and has different rules than other Town-owned public lots. Cameras have been installed that will scan your license plate when you enter the lot and when you leave. If you come to visit the store, park right in front of US Bank in the spots labelled bank customers only, use the 8 left most spaces to get 30 minutes of free parking. You can park anywhere in the lot, but bring in your license plate number and be sure to give it to a Peak to Peak Stitching staff member so that we can ensure you have free parking while you are shopping with us. This applies to locals too! Alternatively, parking is only $2 per hour in “our” lot and throughout town which means you can pay for your space and not have to worry if you decide to go to other stores after you leave us. If you are in a class or attending a retreat, we will definitely get your license plate number (if you park in the US Bank parking lot). Any questions, ask any staff member or send questions to info@peaktopeakstitching.com. (Click here for more information on the Town lots.)

We are looking to hire two staff member for the summer, 2 days a week with some flexibility to add others here and there. If you are interested, please send an email to info@peaktopeakstitching.com.

Whew! Thank you for reading this far! I know I promise not to send out a newsletter more than once a week, but a 3 week gap is too long. I apologize for the big gap this time – there is so much going on! Take care!
