Think Rocky Mountains!
Whoa, not so fast on celebrating green. White is back – the heavy white (great for snowmen) snow stuff. The mountains are gorgeous with their snowy mantles and it is BRIGHT when the sun reflects off of the snow! The good thing about snow this time of year is that it doesn’t stick to the roads that much and when it does, it melts quickly. Meanwhile, the snow pack builds at the higher elevations which will help provide moisture through the summer.
Last call to sign-up for the Quickie One Day Floral Felicity Retreat on May 11th. We have taken Sew Kind of Wonderful’s Floral Felicity pattern and re-colored zones 7 and 8 in Rocky Mountain colors. At the retreat, you will make zone 8 (Columbine, Ruby Throated Hummingbird, Ladybug, and Bee) and will also receive all the fabric you need to make zone 7 (Queen’s Crown and a dragonfly) at home. The two together will make a great wall hanging or be the start of a quilt. While the curves can look a bit daunting, the provided specialty rulers them easy. I remember all too well swearing I would never do curves . . . until I did some. Once you learn how to do curves, you will never let them hold you back again. It is all about slow and steady sewing, not years of experience. Join this class and learn a new skill if you do not already know how. In the retreat, we provide a fun swag bag, the book, the rulers, lots of snacks and lunch, and a good time! We are extending the sign up deadline to May 4th.
As promised, the new beanies designed by Nancy Bates (and their respective leather tags) are launched! These are currently exclusive to Peak to Peak Stitching.
Now that we have our own classroom / retreat space, we are re-starting Sit and Stitch on Wednesdays. (Maybe we should call these UFO Wednesdays?) Whether you quilt, sew, knit, crochet, or do any kind of handiwork, come join us for a few hours or all day on Wednesdays from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM and work on new projects or unfinished ones. Come enjoy the company of fellow stitchers!
We are collecting quilts and blankets for Project Linus quilted blankets for NICU babies, Quilts Beyond Borders, an Estes Park Local Charity (details in the works, but think twin size blankets for teens), and knitted or crocheted Wrapped with Love blankets (NICU babies) as well as collecting “orphan” quilt blocks to sew together.
June 1st is fast approaching and so is the kick-off of our Foundation Paper Piecing Block of the Month program. Each month beginning in June, we will release a new FPP pattern and kit, designed by Lori Yonker and exclusive to Peak to Peak Stitching. Each month is a different bird, animal, or plant representative of the Rocky Mountain region. If you do not know how to foundation paper piece, join us on Saturday, June 1st for a Quickie 1-Day Retreat to learn how and make the first block.

What is a Quickie 1-Day Retreat? This is for anyone who wants a retreat experience but does not have a lot of time. Whether you are a visitor or a local, this is a fun way to get away for a day and be pampered a bit and make something fun with our creative instructors. A light breakfast, lunch, and snacks are included along with a swag bag and most materials and notions.
Quickie 1-Day Quilt Retreat - Rocky Mountain Floral Felicity – May 11 Join us for the day to learn how to use the Sew Kind of Wonderful rulers to make a Rocky Mountain version of the Floral Felicity Zone 8! All fabric, rulers, patterns, and notions included.
Quickie 1-Day Quilt Retreat - Introduction to Foundation Paper Piecing – June 1 – Learn how to do Foundation Paper Piecing and create the first block in our Foundation Paper Piecing Block of the Month. All fabric, rulers, patterns, and notions included.
Quickie 1-Day Quilt Retreat - One Block Wonder – July 20 – Take Moda’s fun flower and bee ombre fabric and make an amazing one block wonder quilt. Fabric, rulers, patterns, and notions included.
Quickie 1-Day Knit Retreat - Alpine Aster Skinny Shawl – July 26 – Come have a great time with Paula Koerner of Chicks with Sticks Knit and create a summer skinny shawl with the Peak to Peak Stitching exclusive Alpine Aster pattern.
Quickie 1-Day Quilt Retreat - Learn to Quilt – August 24 – If you have always wanted to learn to quilt but never had the time or chance, join us for one day and learn the basics. Be careful, quilting is addictive! Fabric, rulers, patterns, and notions included.
Quickie 1-Day Quilt Retreat - Charley Harper Rocky Mountain Panel Quilt – September 14 – All you lovers of Charley Harper who want to know what to do with your stash of Charley Harper Fat Quarters (or who just love Charley Harper!), join us to make a quick and easy quilt showcasing the Charley Harper Rocky Mountain National Park panel and other Charley Harper fabrics of your choosing.
Class - Knitting Nordic Style blocks – multiple days, offered both in-person and on zoom. One square is taught per class and each class is sold separately – sign up for one or all!
Class - Tunisian Crochet – May 4 – learn to crochet Tunisian style. Only 1 seat left.
Class - Summer Sweater – session begins June 20th. Join Paula Koerner with Chicks with Sticks to knit a light summer sweater.
Class - Quilt a Quick and Easy Panel Bag – choose from a Longs-Meeker panel bag, a Welcome to Estes panel bag, or a Tonal Trios panel bag.
Knitting Blcck of the Month - Mid-Winter Blocks – Rolling Enrollment - Sign up for classes individually. These patterns are beautiful (don’t worry about the “winter” in the name) and easy to create.
Quilt Blcck of the Month - Life in the Rocky Mountains – starts June 4th - The foundation paper pieced patterns represent the flora and fauna of the Rocky Mountains and have been designed by Lori Jonker. A pattern and a kit will be released each month for a year. There will be approximately four mammals, four birds, and four flowers represented. It is a mystery though, so each month will be a surprise! Accompanying the release of each pattern is a short video with tips by Lori Jonker.
Knitting Blcck of the Month - Mystery Scarf – Cables – starts August 17th - Ever wanted to learn cables while enjoying a bit of mystery and developing skills? This is the class for you! Learn cable basics and how easy they can be.
Quilting Blcck of the Month - Field & Furrows – starts January 15, 2025 - Field and Furrows BOM is a 6 month program by Designer Scott Flanagan of 4th & Main Designs. This BOM has two colorway options – Brights and Neutrals. Exclusive monthly tutorials by Scott Flanagan will be included along with a bonus pattern!
