What a difference a year makes!
Sunshine has come at last! We are having a run of beautiful blue sky days.
What a difference a year makes. On January 13, 2023, we had our soft opening of the store. Boy, did we all learn a LOT in the few weeks leading up to our GRAND opening on February 10th !! The beauty of it all is, we are continuing to learn new things everyday thanks to people coming to the store to share new skills and ideas.
First priority – we are celebrating! Join us on Saturday, February 10th for a celebration. We will be offering 25% off all our custom fabrics, fabric kits, custom yarn, and custom yarn kits and 10% off everything else in the store. We are going to have two drawings, each for a $100 gift certificate, no purchase necessary. If you come into the store, you will get an entry ticket. For those of you who can’t make it to the store, if you make a purchase online or if you send an email to info@peaktopeakstitching.com, we’ll get you entered for the on-line gift certificate. If you donate a finished block for us to use in creating charity quilts, you will get an extra entry. You can drop the blocks off on February 10th or mail them in (if you mail them, we just need them by the 10th).
New in 2024, we are looking to change the way we share information about incoming new products to give you the opportunity to see what we see and plan ahead. The process from order to receipt of fabrics from the major manufacturers is long. We receive “look books” (catalogs) of new collections, lines, or additions to existing lines several months ahead of when the products will actually arrive in the store. Starting this week, we have loaded several collections and kits onto our website in a “Preorder” status so that you can see what is coming. We will continue to do this so that you can plan your projects. See below for some examples or go to the website! (Click on the pictures to go to each collection.)
The next thing we are going to differently in 2024 is our “Peak to Peak Stitching Quickie Retreats”. We hosted our first one in December and it worked well. This is a day to get away and enjoy learning something new without worry. Most materials and notions, a fun bag, lunch, and snacks will be provided. Our plan is to have one a month. For you locals and Front Range stitchers, you can come to Estes for the day and do not have to worry about lodging. For you travelers visiting Estes Park, take a day for yourself and join us! Since supplies are provided, you do not have to worry about bringing anything with you. Right now, our schedule is:
|
February 17th (last day to register 2/14) |
March 23rd (last day to register 3/16) |

The third new-to-2024 activity is that we are going to host Blocks of the Months but in an online format so that anyone can participate. First up in the fabric world is Scott Flanagan’s Mix and Match which will start in March. You will stitch an easy to make block every other week. The fun begins after all the blocks are made. Depending on how you lay out the blocks, you will get VERY different looking quilts. We have chosen a set of fun colors to work with and two different finishes will be taught. In June, in conjunction with our Intro to Foundation Paper Piecing Quickie Retreat, we will begin our Foundation Paper Piecing (FPP) “Life in the Rocky Mountains” Block of the Month. Lori Jonker is designing patterns that reflect the flora and fauna of the Rockies. She will also provide a video with tips for each block and one of our staff members will host a live Q&A zoom session each month to help you. We have seen the first two designs, and we are excited to see the project come to life! The Quickie Retreat in June is an Introduction to Paper Piecing that will include making the first FPP block!
We are exiting the cross-stitch business, so our cross-stitch patterns and kits, including Fireside Originals, Sue Spargo, Posy, Bothy and more, are 50% off. Now is a good time to pick up some cross-stitch products!
As January comes to an end, remember to purchase Stonehenge fabrics and our Mountain Mammals Table Runner and Placemat kits at a 20% discount. Coming up in February, fabrics from the Pressed Flowers, Midnight Nectar, and Sunday lines and the Snowflake kits are on sale at 20% off during February!
Last but not least, there are only 3 more days left to join our “Got It Done Challenge”. This is a casual group to help encourage each other to complete one project a month. There will be a drawing at the end if you make it to December 31st! Call us or send us an email if you would like more information. For those of you who have joined but have not sent in a picture yet of what you completed in January, send a photo to info@peaktopeakstitching.com!
