Gray Days and Color!

The gray days of winter have set in here in Estes Park. (Yes, last week’s wind did blow away a lot of snow.) We chuckle here in the store when our friends and customers from anywhere other than Estes come to visit the shop and all comment on how much warmer it is up here in the mountains. That is just backwards! Working with fabric and yarn allows you to get some bright colors back in your life and make something to help you stay warm!

Peak to Peak Stitching will be officially one year old on February 10th. Join us on Saturday, February 10th for a celebration. We will be offering 25% off all our custom products and 10% off everything else in the store. If you purchase $15 or more in-store OR online, you will be entered in a drawing for a $100 gift certificate (there will be one for in-store customers and one for online customers). If you donate a 10” x 10” block for us to use in creating charity quilts, you will get an extra entry so clean out your orphan blocks for a good cause! Help us celebrate what a difference a year makes!

Finally! The Charley Harper Rocky Mountain National Park panels are back in. They’ve been on backorder for many months, but they have arrived at last. The 36” x 43” panel is a whimsical combination of the Rocky Mountain line of fabrics. You can simply quilt the top to make a quick baby blanket or add some borders for an easy throw.

We also have back in stock Bloc_Loc Half Square Triangles and new for us, Bloc_Loc Half Rectangle Triangle sets (the set comes with both a right HRT and a left HRT ruler). Check out these directions from Bloc_Loc for 2-at-a-tTme Half Square Triangles and 8-at-a-Time Half Square Triangles and then order your new tools!

Knitters, we’ve talked a lot about Nancy Bates’ Knitting the National Park beanies (and shared a lot of pictures on social media). Our very creative staff member Libby, has been having fun with color and knitting patterns from the National Park book as well as Nancy Bates’ Knitting California book in colors that are different from what Bates’ original patterns show. Here are some examples:

Paula Koerner of Chicks with Sticks will be teaching Michele Hunter’s Building Blocks class ONLINE via zoom so you can learn how to knit from your own home or while traveling. You will learn basic and advanced stitches, including lace and cable knitting, along with how to follow a pattern and use a pattern chart. Join Paula and learn how to knit and feel comfortable doing so.

There are fun classes being added weekly – be sure to check out the full list of classes on our website – and keep checking back. If you would like to suggest a class, drop us a note at info@peaktopeakstitching.com
