New year, new resolutions!
Happy New Year 2024! Debi and Catherine have each made a resolution to complete one project a month through year end. It is too easy for all of us here at Peak to Peak Stitching to get caught up in store operations and forget the hobbies we love that got us started on this journey! For us, completing something can be as simple as (finally) putting on a binding (how long has that quilt been waiting Catherine - 3 years?) or as complex as starting and completing a quilt or a knitted beanie.
If you want to join us, let us know at info@peaktopeakstitching.com with a picture each time you complete a project. Put “Got It Done” in the subject line. If you succeed in completing 12 projects by December 31st, we’ll enter your name in a drawing for a surprise gift. It has to truly be a project EACH month, not race out and make 12 pot holders next week. You are on your honor to set your own criteria for what constitutes a project – it’s the spirit that counts! Look to your UFOs for inspiration. Schedule a time on your calendar and treat it as a commitment.
Having the right tools on hand can help you complete a task faster. Some tools our staff loves are the Stripology Rulers to cut strips fast and straight, Bloc_Loc Rulers to easily “square up” half-square triangles or flying geese, Sew Straight to help you easily sew a scant 1/4", and many more big and small. If you need ideas or want to create your own unique quilt, Quilt Block Genius is filled with over 300 block ideas. Peak to Peak Stitching staff is available to help give you a quick in-store tutorial on any of these tools if you need them.
We have a fun Block of the “½ Month” coming up starting on March 2nd. We have chosen an earthy color palette that will be used to make the blocks in Scott Flanagan’s Mix and Match book for the “Retreat Day” or “Sail Away” sampler designs (or you can choose your own fabrics). Three classes will be offered: (1) Retreat Day – includes fabrics to make the blocks and finish the quilt top; (2) Sail Away includes fabrics to make the blocks and finish the quilt top; and (3) No fabric option – you get to choose your own fabrics. Debi Routh will be providing “how to” videos along with live Zoom meetings for live demos and questions. Join us for a fun and beginner friendly BOM.
Just a reminder - our Stonehenge fabric and custom Mountain Mammals Table Runner and Mountain Mammals Table Runner & Placemats are discounted 20% during the month of January.
Spots are filling for our Retreat in the Rockies with Nancy Bates April 18 – 21. All materials and a gift bag are provided.
