Fall, classes, and gifts oh my!
What a gorgeous run of beautiful fall days we have had! No snow in Estes proper yet. The bull elk are pretty much done with the rut, bull moose are nearing the end of their rut, and now it is the buck deer’s turn. Most of the aspen leaves are off the trees turning trails into a carpet of gold. The mountains have held onto the snow we had back in late September so there is still a bit of fall color around.
Here in the shop, we have been busy planning for 2024. That always seems strange to me but the ordering cycle for fabric, especially custom fabric, has a long lead time. We are also planning some special events for next year including Retreat in the Rockies with Nancy Bates in April and some exciting Blocks of the Months beginning in late January that will all be on Zoom to allow all of you to get a bit of Estes Park in your home wherever you live. Each month, you will receive a kit and there will be a scheduled time for you to zoom in and see how to make that block and ask questions.
Many of you who have visited Peak to Peak Stitching have commented that we have nice class offerings but because you live out of town/state/country, you can’t attend. We’ve been listening and are looking to move most of our classes online by January so that you CAN attend. In December we will be running two online classes to refine our process. Online classes will have “Zoom” after them. To attend, you will need to know how to attend a zoom meeting, remember learning Zoom from the Covid days? Be sure to check out our latest classes!
On December 9th, we will host an in-person Quickie Day Retreat – Fabric Rope Basket and Dinner Napkins. This is a fun one day getaway to learn some new skills and make some gifts for others or to treat yourself. There are only 3 seats left so if you are interested, sign up soon! Bring a friend or come and make a friend.
Thinking of holiday gifts, we have some fun items in our store for your special friend or for a hostess gift. These include fabric rope baskets already made in a variety of colors and sizes – if you are interested, give the store a call and we can text you pictures as our stock is always changing. We also have some fun notions including the foldable box organizer by Meori, fun cork bags, and napkins made from our custom batiks. We have yellow in stock now, with other colors to come.
We have a bunch of new photo panels in, including some beautiful hummingbirds. These make up quickly into throw size quilts by just adding some borders.
Check out these 2 quilts made from kits and panels.
On the yarn side, we have new Malabrigo colors in AND three of them are in chunky weight. With chunky weight yarns, you can make a cowl, scarf, or beanie in a day for a quick gift.
Debi and Catherine are headed to Houston for the International Quilt Market. They plan to share pictures on FB. Our Facebook Live for this Friday 10/27 will be FB Recorded so if you don’t see us at 9AM mountain time, check FB later. :)
Think warm thoughts – snuggle up in a handmade quilt or Afghan or put on a knitted beanie or shawl. If you need help finding the perfect project, give us a call at 970-296-8385 or drop us an email at info@peaktopeakstitching.com. Our staff will be glad to help!
