Holiday Ideas
Summertime in the Rockies means warmer temperatures, afternoon thunderstorms, lots of elk and moose calves and deer fawns, and a bumper crop of wildflowers thanks to all the rain. It is a beautiful time to be in Estes Park!
Hard to believe since it seems like summer has just arrived, but it is time to start thinking about the holidays. Who wants to think about winter? We are hoping the beautiful holiday fabrics, quilt kits, project kits, and applique will get you in the mood to start stitching in these lazy summer days, so you don’t have to be rushing to finish projects come fall.
From Patrick Lose, we have “Winterlude”, a collection that contains white on white and silver on white winter themed fabrics that can be used for all kinds of winter projects.
Northcott Fabric’s “White Linen” collection has white and soft green poinsettias, pinecones & needles along with some beautiful blenders. (The blenders could be used in any project!) The kit made with a holiday wreath and candle panel would look great on a comfy chair with you cuddled up under it. The panel can also be used to make a table topper or table runner if you desire. There is also a panel to make quick and easy placemats. Add some napkins and you will have an elegant holiday table.
We brought in our first flannel fabrics this month. Little Donkey’s Christmas has a sweet donkey, snowflakes, and some bird friends on wonderfully soft flannel. We have fabric by the yard and a kit.
The Christmas Cardinal fabric line is creativity waiting to happen. The fabrics themselves are colorful and varied…there are cardinals galore! What is neat about this line is that the collection includes panels to make quick and easy stockings, a tree skirt, or an apron and oven mitts. Each panel has instructions printed right on it so you don’t need a pattern. If you need to add color to your own living space or want to make quick and easy gifts for friends, this line can help.
We have Rachel of Greenfield’s holiday applique kits....
...and we have “Tuck-n-Go” kits that anyone can make.
Keep an eye on our classes as they are being updated regularly. We are also looking at starting a quick-and-easy gift series in late September that will be available on zoom. Join us for a class and stitch a mountain memory!
