This week we will feature a staff tool pick from Ronna. She is a professional quilter @DorothyJanesQuilts as well as our photographer and Social Media Coordinator.
From Ronna: “My go to tool for trimming half square triangles and flying geese is a Bloc_loc ruler. This tool features a groove on the back that locks over your quarter inch seam to make sure you’re not slipping and sliding while trimming. I also like how you don’t have to lift the ruler to get to the other sides of your block. You only have to slide it to the other side to get to the other edges you need for squaring up your blocks. This tool makes trimming quicker and more accurate for my work. I like that you can have different size options in the Bloc_loc to fit your work. This tool is great for taking to retreats and has a hole in the corner so I can hang it for vertical storage while not in use.”
This week we added Fireside Originals Cross-stitch kits to our lineup. These come with a pattern and all the DMC floss you need to complete a beautiful project featuring a location or something local to Estes Park and its surrounding areas. Check out our selection online and in store.
We also added the Sunday Collection from Figo Fabrics. These feature poppy flowers, hummingbirds, colorful stripes, and some petite flowers. We can’t wait to see how you use these fabrics in your work. Think spring!
For our knitters, we have kits for shawls, National Park Beanie kits with their corresponding tags you can add (check out the newly added Petrified Forest beanie kit), and shortly we will get out organic wool/angora/llama skeins that you can even dye yourself if you’d like! These skeins come from a local doctor's farm and are pretty special.
We look forward to welcoming you in store and online!
Happy stitching,
The Peak to Peak Stitching Team
