"I Lost My Mitten" is an easy block pattern uniquely designed by David Taylor to teach his turned-edge, layered, nearly-invisible machine-applique technique using freezer paper templates, liquid starch, and nylon invisible thread.

| Requirements: | Required Materials: (Available at Peak to PeakTM Stitching; 10% discount for class materials) - Sewing machine in good running condition with power cord, pedal and owner’s manual - be familiar with how to use it! - Open toe or applique foot that fits your machine (NOT blind hem foot) - Stiletto or trolley needle - Both paper and fabric scissors - Empty bobbin - Straight pins for applique - Thread snips - Pencil - Basic sewing tools, scissors or snips, seam ripper, bobbins, pins |

| Instructor Bio: | David was born in Peterborough, New Hampshire, and currently resides in Fort Collins, Colorado. He has been the recipient of the Fairfield Master Award for Contemporary Quilting from the International Quilt Association (2006, 2014), the Brother Wall Machine Workmanship Award from the American Quilters Society (2008), the Director’s Award at Road to California (2022), and a two-time Best-of-Show winner at IQA's Spring Festival in Chicago (2007, 2008), among others. His art quilts hang in numerous private collections. |
