2024 - 08/08 Knitting Midwinter Blocks, Section 4, Nordic Design 2 - Zoom

Date:                              Series starts Thursday, March 14, 2024, with Zoom option on March 21.

                                       Last Day to register is 2 days before each session.

Time:                             10:00 – 11:00 am for the in-person classes. 

                                       Zoom session of the same block to be held the following week at 6:00 – 7:00 pm; Zoom link to be sent the day before the Zoom class.

Class Description:       Join us for a series of seven classes to make a winter-themed blanket comprised of 35 blocks of six different designs. (In-person and zoom classes are identical – choose what works best for you for each block! Mix and match as needed.) Learn how to knit with multiple colors in a single design and learn how to join the blocks together into a blanket; the final size is approximately 32” x 42”.

Cost:                              $25 per session.  Each session needs separate registration.

Class Size:                    min 1, max 6 for in-person class.  20-person limit for the Zoom sessions

Prerequisite skills:      Advanced beginner – cast on, knit, and cast off. Colorwork knitting experience helpful. 

Required Materials:     (Available at Peak to Peak Stitching, 10% discount for class materials)

  •     Download free instructions, block patterns,
  •     DK wool yarn, in colors of your choice.  Quantities for each color for the whole blanket are shown in the instructions for Section 1, snowflake
  •     Circular knitting needles, size 5, 32” or 40” long
  •     Measuring tape
  •     Tapestry needle
  •     Stitch marker

Optional Materials:

  •     Row counter
  • Small scissors

Instructor Bio: I have been knitting since I was 9 years old. My husband and I have lived in Estes Park for 3 years and in Colorado for 40 years. We have 4 dogs - two Irish Wolfhounds, a rescue puppy, and the rescue puppy's puppy. My hobbies include knitting, crocheting, quilting, reading, and walking.
