Instructor: | Paula Koerner |
Instructor Bio: | Paula learned to knit in high school through her enthusiastic involvement with 4-H. After college and raising two active children, Paula picked up knitting again. Unsurprisingly, she became completely obsessed with the magic of knits and purls and immediately set out to share her love and enthusiasm with everyone. Her love of knitting and desire to learn new techniques has allowed Paula to challenge herself and her craft every single day. Paula began teaching knitting classes in 2015 at a local yarn shop. Through these interactions, Paula was encouraged to create lessons on sweaters, lace, felting, colorwork and beginning knitting projects. Paula discovered that reading patterns with mysterious symbols, charts and abbreviations can be intimidating to new knitters and she loves helping all levels of knitters to embrace this ?secret? language. Paula has made it her mission to help others become confident skilled knitters so they can pick up a pattern on their own, get started and fix their mistakes on the way. Paula's greatest joys in teaching knitting arise from the relationships and camaraderie that develops among her students. She believes that knitting is one of the universal languages that can bring people together. Paula is the founder of chickswithsticksknit.com, runs the Chicks with Sticks Knitting Club, and she lives in Fort Collins, CO. |
